Value Provided

GMC Commissioning's technical value was brought to the project through in-depth expertise.  Our ability to communicate effectively, appropriately address relevant issues, and provide creative troubleshooting suggestions allowed the project to stay on budget and schedule.

Project Overview

University of California Riverside’s new School of Business complex serves as the flagship facility and permanent home for the School, establishing itself as the premier center for management research and education in the Inland Empire. Spanning approximately 63,400 GSF (38,500 ASF), the $90 million project includes exterior gathering spaces and advanced learning environments.

The Undergraduate Teaching and Learning Facility (UTLF) project constructs an approximately 120,000 gross-square-foot building to provide UC Riverside with critically needed classroom, class laboratory, and studio space to allow the campus to serve current and future undergraduate students.

The North District Phase 2 is a $350 million project that adds 1,500 apartment-style units, creating modern, affordable housing for over 2,000 students to meet growing demand.

Across these projects, GMC Cx provided whole-building technical commissioning for all electric MEP and building automation systems, including heat pump and electric water heaters, chillers, VRF HVAC, and a Solar PV system. Engaged early in design assist, GMC Cx led design phase reviews, set acceptance criteria and owner requirements, and installed a custom fault detection and performance analytics system using SkySpark to validate system performance and ensure efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
