Specialty Commissioning Services
At GMC Cx, we believe that commissioning is more than just a process—it's a pathway to greater construction efficiency, lower operating costs, and improved occupant health and safety. As a value-added extension to our core commissioning services, we offer a range of enhanced testing services and certifications designed to ensure quality across the board.

Comprehensive Testing for Enhanced Performance
Our specialty services are designed to provide a complete testing package, addressing key areas that impact the overall performance and functionality of your building. By leveraging advanced technologies and industry-leading expertise, we empower you to achieve unparalleled levels of efficiency, reliability, and comfort.
Fume Hood Certifications
According to the standards set forward by OSHA, chemical fume hood testing should be conducted on an annual basis at a minimum. Additionally, new fume hoods should be tested upon installation prior to utilization.
GMC Cx offers complete chemical fume hood testing and certification. GMC Cx has on staff NEBB Fume Hood Certified Professionals and can certify the airflow for installed fume hoods in accordance with Cal/OSHA standard §5154.1: Ventilation Requirements for Laboratory-Type Hood Operations and ASHRAE 110. The purpose of these tests is to validate that the average airflow face velocity meets the Code required minimum requirements at the operating sash position.

Integrated System Testing
The Integrated System Test (IST) is critical to the verification of the integration of equipment, controls and systems into combined operation which will represent the actual functionality of the facility. GMC Cx has developed test methodology which includes documented script, dry run and final testing. This method enables the owner to verify with high degree of certainty that systems are fully integrated, communicate properly when faults occur, and can continue to operate in a crisis.
Integrated Systems Tests we perform include:

Pull-the-plug”/blackout site utility outage test to verify operation of

Building Envelope Commissioning (BECx)
The building envelope plays a critical role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and energy efficiency of a structure. The Building Envelope Commissioning also known as Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx) process is utilized to validate that the performance of materials, components, assemblies, systems and design achieve the objectives and requirements of the owner as outlined in the contract documents. Our Building Envelope Commissioning (BECx) services encompass everything from detailed design phase reviews to comprehensive ASTM E 2813 commissioning programs.
GMC Commissioning can provide building envelope commissioning in accordance with LEED Enhanced Commissioning, Option 2 (2 Points). This scope includes a review of the design, submittals, construction surveys related to enclosure system installation and testing of building air leakage. Air leakage testing utilizes temporary blower door fan systems to pressurize and depressurize the building testing for leakage rates (CFM/SF), verifying that the overall enclosure is performing as designed. This service can be enhanced with thermal, water intrusion and smoke testing.
With GMC Commissioning's expertise in building enclosure consulting, you can rest assured that your project will meet the highest standards of performance when it matters most. Our meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence ensure that every aspect of your building envelope is optimized for maximum efficiency and durability, providing lasting benefits for years to come.
